Happy New Year anyway

at some point after i started doing this bloggy thing i realized i was censoring myself.. not saying what i really thought or felt about many things because i was afraid to offend someone who might not agree with me …and after i had that epiphany i knew i couldn’t continue in that way .. otherwise what’s the point of doing it at all? we all should be putting our real thoughts and feelings into what we do here..and nothing is wrong and nothing is right..there are no value judgements to be made because you can’t judge another person’ s reality .. it’s all just about sharing our opinions and feelings…if you disagree with something i say..::shrug:: that’s life …you’re not going to change my mind anymore than i will change yours .. let’s all just move on…

on a more celebratory not.. i would like to thank all the people who follow me ( i never really expected that anyone would) … if any of my mad ramblings give you enjoyment in the reading of them…. i am both honored that you take the time to read this and very pleased… and now since i have to be up at 5 am for my 12 hour work day … i wish you all ( friend and foe alike ) a very Happy New Year..and my best best hopes and wishes for us all in 2012 …NickE

More Than This

dare-le-vertigini:

More Than This | Roxy Music | Avalon

All you have to do is listen to the damn song.

It’s brilliant. The music, so perfectly matched to the lyrics. A hit of melancholy and hope simultaneous. It’s all very philosophical, but in an understated way.

i remember driving back to L.A from the Mojave desert…with a peach and a full moon… simple existence is magical

“How carelessly imperial power decreed whose needs were profound and whose were not. How carelessly it vivisected ancient civilizations. Palestine and Kashmir are imperial Britain’s festering, blood-drenched gifts to the modern world. Both are fault-lines in the raging international conflicts of today.” —Arundhati Roy, ‘Come September’ speech at Santa Fe, New Mexico (via proverbial-everything)
